Preschool Lead Teacher & Teacher’s Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand and support the philosophy and goals of Parkwood
  • Utilize the school-provided curriculum and lesson plans to perform a variety of activities that ensures age-appropriate learning
  • Ability to work well with children both in group settings and one-on-one, depending on the needs of children and on the subject matter
  • Maintains the health and safety of children
  • Positively communicates with parents/guardians
  • Works cooperatively with other educators and support staff
  • Follows policies and procedures set by the employer and DCF

Requirements:

  • Complete DCF 45 hours
  • First Aid and CPR certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years of prior experience in early childhood education
  • Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Associate’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Development/Education
Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand and support the philosophy and goals of Parkwood
  • Utilize the school-provided curriculum and lesson plans to perform a variety of activities that ensures age-appropriate learning
  • Ability to work well with children both in group settings and one-on-one, depending on the needs of children and on the subject matter
  • Maintains the health and safety of children
  • Positively communicates with parents/guardians
  • Works cooperatively with other educators and support staff
  • Follows policies and procedures set by the employer and DCF

Requirements:

  • First Aid and CPR certification

Per ELC of Duval, a VPK instructor must have (at the minimum) at least one of the following:

  • A Child Development Associate (NECC) issued by the National Credentialing Program; along with Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors and Implementing the Standards in Preschool Classrooms-3 Year Old to Kindergarten
  • A credential approved by the Department of Children and Families as being equivalent to or greater than the national credential (FCCP); along with Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors and Implementing the Standards in Preschool Classrooms-3 Year Old to Kindergarten
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in early childhood education, prekindergarten or primary education, preschool education, or family and consumer sciences (formerly known as home economics)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in elementary education, with certification to teach any age birth through 6th grade. The certification does not need to be current, but cannot have been suspended or revoked
  • An Associate’s Degree or higher in child development
  • An Associate’s Degree or higher in an unrelated field, with at least six (6) hours in early childhood education or child development and at least 480 hours of experience teaching or providing care for children birth through 8
    years of age
  • An educational credential approved by the Department of Education as being
    equivalent to or greater than an educational credential described above.
Resources Teacher (K-7)

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to teach Art, Physical Education, Music, Foreign Language, and/or Media
  • Create lesson plans and activities to ensure age-appropriate learning in each subject listed
  • Ability to understand and support the philosophy and goals of Parkwood 
  • Ability to work well with elementary/middle school students both in group settings and one-on-one, depending on the needs of each student and on the subject matter
  • Maintains the health and safety of students
  • Positively communicates with parents/guardians
  • Works cooperatively with other educators and support staff
  • Follows policies and procedures set by the employer

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of educational/teaching experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
Elementary School Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work well with elementary school students both in group settings and one-on-one, depending on the needs of each student and on the subject matter

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of educational/teaching experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
Middle School Teacher
